what trips do you have scheduled for january '09

It is difficult to answer that question in the form you have written, since this is just a website with information and not travel accommodations.

However, if you are looking to go to Costa Rica in January, that is a very good idea. In January, you are less likely to be rained on every day, since it is the dry season there.

It would make a very enjoyable trip and you could visit one of the many great tourist attractions in Costa Rica. Either the jungle or the beaches, it doesn't matter as just about everything is green and beautiful.

I found that the people in Costa Rica were very friendly for the most part, except the taxi drivers were a little shady sometimes. There were also some very nice ones.

Check out the bed and breakfasts when planning your trip. There are some very nice ones and the amenities are plentiful. It is a bit more homey if that is what you like.  Good luck on your trip!

My experience tells that Bed and Breakfast inns are the perfect accomodations for travellers. They are very much useful for the visitors with limited budget as this also costs lesser than the hotels. B&Bs often delight for the high levels of services and personal touch and the care that they are capable to provide. I personally would suggest [URLs deleted because they are completely irrelevent to Costa Rica and/or Central America. We appreciate comments that have something to do with the topic at hand here!] as they present very detailed information about inns and surrounding areas.
