In the Limón province of the Caribbean island, Costa Rica, is the small village of Tortuguero. This little village is found inside of the magical costal park that is known as Parque Nacional Tortuguero.
For the entire western half of the Caribbean, this little island is known as being the primary Green Sea Turtle nesting site. No wonder Tortuguero literally means “turtle place.”
Also, the Leatherback and the Hawksbill Sea Turtles nest alongside the shorelines, in addition to the Green Sea Turtles.
