    Name of your website?

PuraMar Surf Shop Tamarindo, Costa Rica

    Your name?

    Kelly Zak

    Your Location (city, etc)

    Tamarindo, Costa Rica

Please give us a short summary of your website?

Information about our services including surf lessons, surfboard and boogie board rentals, local sightseeing tours, surfing photos, and information about Tamarindi,

What inspired you to launch your own website?

I recently purchased this business and, as embarrassing as this is to say, my mother completely designed this website. Of course I contributed the photos, lol.

When did you launch your first website, and what was it?

This is it, my first website.

How did you decide on a name for your website?

The website pretty much describes my business, so we just went with that.

What makes it different from other, similar offerings?

I feel my site is a lot more fun and easier to navigate than other sites. We have several cool photos that are very natural and amateurish. Surfing is a very raw, unpolished sport, and I feel that very relaxed and easy going website would be most appropriate.

What is your eventual goal? (To sell it, keep it for income, secure a book or other mainstream media deal?)

I'd love to expand this website to the point that vacationers could book their entire trip to Costa Rica right through my website.

How does your investment of time and money balance against your success?

Ask me again in a year, lol.

If you had an unlimited development budget for development, how would you change your site?

I wouldn't. My mum was willing to do a lot more with the site, but honestly, I think its perfect the way it is, at least for now.

If your site got really big, really quickly, would you be able to keep up with the demand?

No, but my mum could ;)

What unexpected costs and headaches have you had to deal with?

One headache is Microsoft Vista. Even though we use the most up todate software, ie Flash, Dreamweaver, we still seem to run into problems with the new Vista.

What has been your biggest challenge?

Getting the user name and password that I received from the previous owner to work.

What method has been most successful for promoting your website?

    Facebook!!

How has running your website differed from your expectations?

We have to make daily changes to the website. From adding reciprocal links, or new photos, there always seems to be something.

How long have you run the site already, and how long will you continue to keep it up if you don't enjoy big gains in traffic, income or popularity?

We just got the site up in October and hope to have it up for many years to come. So far, I've enjoyed the website and the business.

    What is your website address?

PuraMar Surf Shop Tamarindo, Costa Rica
