When a local speaks of Playa Hermosa, take note that there are two beaches called Playa Hermosa here in Costa Rica. The Playa Hermosa mentioned in this post is the one in North Puntarenas.
More than the fine-looking beaches lining up in this region, Playa Hermosa is world famous for its strong waves and currents that attract a lot of surfers every year, beginners and experts alike. There is no doubt that this is the surfing capital of Costa Rica, so if ever you decide to come here, tag along your surfboard and ride the waves!
