The purpose of travelling is usually to see worlds that are beyond what we can conceive of at the moment. Some do it with great expectations, while a few go out of their respective homes and embark on an adventure without much expectations in their minds. This is the spirit of adventure.

Due to the fact that a lot of tourists and adventurers come from the world's urbanized regions, it is only unsurprising that their idea of an adventure is a trip to the world's rural destinations that are more in touch with nature than they are.

In Costa Rica, you will find that there are a lot of areas that you can go to for this kind of adventure. Perhaps one of the more popular destinations is Monteverde, which is particularly famous for the Monteverde Cloud Forest Reserve.

For those who are not aware, a cloud forest (sometimes called a fog forest), is a tropical or subtropical forest characterized by the low cloud cover, usually at the canopy level already. Because of this, mosses have been found to be abundant in the forest grounds, which is why they are sometimes called moss forests.

Just before you enter the cloud forest reserve, you can go first and check the outlying Monteverde village, which is not actually a village because of the sparse distribution of the homes in there. Life in this small village hardly changed; people still lead rural lives. For a change, this will be a very good alternative to the busy city even for just a while.

But if you're thinking that you're getting so out of touch, then fret not, for there is also a town nearby, called Santa Elena, which was developed to cater mostly to tourists. There is a hospital, pharmacy, restaurants, police stations, supermarkets, and similar amenities that can still make your stay in Monteverde a comfortable one.

These sort of trips only happen a few times (if not once) in our lifetime. A trip to a cloud reserve is a kind of adventure that you will normally not experience in your typical tropical trip. So make the most out of it and enjoy whatever the Monteverde Cloud Resort has to offer.
