Jaco may well be considered to be one of the more developed beach towns in Costa Rica, having itself considered to be one of the country's "party beaches." That's basically because there area already a lot of tourists here, with real estate developments abound. If you're keen on partying and meeting new people, then going to Jaco is the right thing for you.
But do not limit yourself to Jaco, as there are still a lot of things to do while you are here. Among them is charter fishing. A guest of the Costa Rica Vacation Blog asked if we know some good fishing charters in the Jaco area, which is why we're here to give you one.
What's nice about Jaco is that it's only around 90 minutes away from the capital of San Jose. This means that you can check in at the capital and settle there first before proceeding to Jaco for an entire day of sportsfishing. Among the fishes that you can catch here sailfishes, marlins, roosterfishes, tuna, and dorado. You can start off at the Playa Hermosa marina and have a short trip from there, until you are able to reach the area where the game fishes are around.
CostaRicaFishingCharters.com offers a variety of packages that await interested Jaco fishers. Of course there are packages for both deep sea fishing and inshore fishing. You can usually get boats here for around $1500 to $1800 per day, inclusive of assistance from staff and the captain. Take note, however, that during the summer season expert captains are always in demand so make sure that you book around a month in advance in order to get only the best of captains.
Afterwards, after you have already spent your day in the seas, it's already time for you to return to the shores and party with the rest of the people all night long. Alternatively, you can just choose to go back to San Jose and enjoy what the Costa Rican capital has to offer.
