Shopping in plant lover paradise, part one

I remember one of my favorite parts of going to Costa Rica. I was there half on vacation and half to visit my business partner who moved there. I love to shop and shop I did while I was there.

The greatest shopping moment for me was going to the nursery (as in for plants). There were plants and hordes of them...beautiful, lush, tropical plants. Now being from the United States, of course none of these beautiful things could be had where I lived in such splendor.

By the time I was finished shopping for my partner's home and business, which was a bed and breakfast, I had purchased an entire truckload of plants! I know that sounds crazy, but when you have a love of plants and can't even look at this kind of thing at home, you kind of go out of your mind. Be sure to stay tuned to find out what happened to me AFTER I bought the whole truckload of plants to make it an even better shopping experience!

Remember if you are just vacationing in Costa Rica and try to take the plants home you'll probably lose the plants when the U.S. Customs Service checks your bags.

Some of the stores sell seeds packs of tropical seeds. I don't know if you have any trouble bringing them home.

I find it interesting that the Costa Ricans seem enchanted with silk and plastic flowers (ugh!)

Yes, My partner did advise me as such. All of these plants were purchased to stay there (darn it!)
