In its effort to promote sustainable development and environmental conservation to people of all kinds, the Corcovado Foundation announced that it will be having the 5th edition of the Expo Verde from March 18 to 21, 2010 in INBio Parque. The expo is expected to enlighten a great number of people and tell them more about the Green Movement.
In order to promote its advocacy, the Expo will feature manufacturers of items that were initially perceived to be damaging to the environment but are now redeveloped to become more environment-friendly. Among these items are organic products, electrical innovations, synthetic wood, oxo-biodegradable plastics, and similar chemical products.
Furthermore, for the very first time since the introduction of the expo 5 years ago, the tourism sector is helping the event by showing its programs of environmental sustainability to everyone. A number of events are planned during the duration of the expo. For instance, the Rainforest Alliance will be giving sustainability workshops to travel agencies, hoteliers, and similar enterprises. Similarly, environment education workshops will be catering to children and to the rest of the public. A business conference involving the discussion of tourism sustainability certificates will also be another highlight of the expo.
Finally, a cocktail party will be held at the end of the expo. It will be entitled, "Let's Cheer for Sustainability!". Of course it isn't all about serious talk. This will be a great opportunity for you to network and get acquainted with fellow environment lovers.
As a responsible human being, this is one of those events that we should not miss. It is our obligation to preserve the environment so that the future generations can admire our planet as much as we admire it today. It's a good thing that some organizations are already taking the lead. Projects like this can go a long way in making sure that everybody is informed. Now we are expected to support it and follow suit.
